​In the psychology of Carl Jung, our inner selves carry both feminine and masculine energies: the Anima (the unconscious feminine within the man) and the Animus (the unconscious masculine within the woman). This series explores that profound inner duality through two mirroring figures.

 

​The Anima: Insight and the Unconscious

​The first painting embodies the Anima, rendered in fluid, organic forms. ​She is a female figure representing deep intuition. ​Eyes open on her palms, symbolizing a profound, internal insight. Swimming around her are the familiar spirit carriers (fishes) that apear in my works. Behind her glows a full moon, anchoring her in the mystical, the hidden, and the unknown. ​

 

The Animus: Direction and Structure

​The second painting mirrors the first but manifests the Animus. A male figure composed of sharp, deliberate lines rather than organic curves. ​In contrast to the feminine circle, his head is a strict square, radiating sharp stings that dictate direction, logic, and order. ​Above him shines the sun, representing open, radiant energy—everything is visible, structured, and clear. ​

 

Seated in identical, mirroring positions, the two figures face one another—a visual dialogue between the circular mystery of the subconscious and the sharp clarity of consciousness.
